Buford, Georgia
Here we are visiting Jason's aunt, uncle, and cousin in Buford, Georgia, which is northeast of Atlanta. Carol fixed us a fabulous lunch spread and then she drove us around town and to Lake Lanier to walk the dogs. For dinner we met up with Bill Jr., his girlfriend, and Andrew, Carol's husband, for dinner.

Buford is home to the three story, 2.2 million square foot, Mall of Georgia which also expands to a controlled outdoor village with streets, stand alone stores, restaurants, and outdoor entertainment. Buford sits along the southern edge of Lake Lanier which is part of the Chattahoochee River. Lake Lanier is 1,071 feet above sea level due to the Buford Dam which was finished in 1959. The lake, shoreline and islands equal 58,000 acres in northern Georgia.
