camper rental - choose your camper rental wisely

Camper Rental

Camper rental can help you save money, time and prevent you from making a big mistake purchasing a camper that you think you want, when its not the one you want at all. Rent the camper, see how you like it, spend a few days to look over everything and then you are more likely to make a good decision on which camper to buy. There are some advantages and disadvantages listed below. Read over them and remember the tips when you rent the camper you are interested in.
A camper should be thought of as an extra expense like a boat or small vacation house. Unless, you choose to live in the camper or you use the camper enough for small vacations, sports games, camping, etc. You save a lot of money using a camper for a camping trip or sports games because you don't need hotel rooms or rental cars.

If you are considering purchasing a camper then you seriously need to rent it for three days minimum and get a real feel of the camper. This will help you determine if this camper is really what you want and need or if there is another one out there that you should look into before making a buy. If you're just looking for information on where to find a great deal on a camper rental,

paperwork, cost and terms and more, then the information listed next should be of assistance to you and your search.

United States camper rental companies, will almost always require a minimum of $995 reservation deposit of about half of the camper rental is charged at the time of confirmation, to your credit card. These will later be added to your rental charges. Also, when you first pick up your camper for your rental, the company usually collects a security deposit and they hold it during the time of your rental. Rates, conditions, terms, fees and deposits will vary depending on the area, year, make, model and condition of the camper itself.

A lot of camper rental companies do not rent travel trailers or fifth wheels but they do rent Class A's, Class B's and Class C's. Most rental companies will give you the first one hundred miles a day for free and then charge about .31 to .41 a mile thereafter. Also, the majority of a camper rental are typically for four to fourteen nights and nothing less than four day rental is allowed, which is a good thing because it will take three days at least to really see all of the camper and make a good observation on whether it is an RV that you would like to buy.

Many camper rental companies offer a 24 hour roadside assistance, 24 hour vehicle operation assistance, and 24 hour customer service in many different languages. They also have, toll free technical service hot lines, warranty station appointment and services which are very valuable in ensuring that your vacation is not a disaster if a breakdown does occur, and mobile mechanical services.

If the camper for rent has a generator on it then there will usually be a separate per hour fee on its use and this is calculated up after your camper rental is complete. For a lot of people, if you're camping out in the wild, a generator is worth the extra fee. If you're camping at a camp ground you wont need a generator though.

When you have finished up your camper rental and returning it back to the rental company, you will need to clean it before you return it. If you turn your camper back in and it is not clean enough or ready for the next renter, you will be charged a cleaning fee. There is a special insurance, which is usually needed for preventing a catastrophe financially if you have an accident during the rental, this insurance usually cost around $16 per day.

In order to drive a camper you wont need a special drivers license. However, the majority of rental companies will require you to be at least 25 years old and have a valid driver's license. Renting the camper before you purchase is a great idea and remember to return the camper back to the rental company on time or you will be paying a hefty late fee from your camper rental.
