RV canopy - rv canopies are the most important exterior option on your rv

RV Canopy

RV canopy - I would not even suggest buying either a new or used rv without a canopy. However, if you do buy an rv without a canopy then the money you spend to have one put on will be well spent. In our 10 years of caravaning all over the U.S., our experience is that canopies are the most important exterior option you

can buy. The problem is they are more difficult and expensive to add later than nearly any other option. Therefore, I strongly recommend buying an rv with a canopy already installed. Seriously. As of May 2006 we have traveled over 33,000 miles in 10 years of caravaning and lived in our motorhome full time, or camped out of it, for over 1,912 days.

Our first caravan did not have canopies but since then all our motorhomes have had them. I would not be without an canopy for each window and a large one for the patio ever again. One of the biggest reasons for a caravan canopy is heat. We travel and stay extensively in hot western and southern climates like southern California, Nevada, Arizona, Florida, and Texas. The single most important issue in keeping your motorhome cool is to first stop the sun and heat BEFORE it gets to the windows, glass and exterior walls of your coach. Most caravans do not have adequate insulation, and even though the air conditioning systems are usually quite good, it still pays dollar for dollar to invest in a good exterior canopy system.

RV canopies offer you the ability to leave your windows open while you spend time and play outside. You can leave your caravan "open" without worrying too much about water coming in the windows should it rain while your gone. Many people underestimate the value of opened windows. It feels great to be able to leave your bedroom windows open at night while you sleep in places where it is cool enough to sleep without the ac. This way you can boondock or dry camp without paying campground fees or running a loud generator.

RV window canopies take about only seconds to close and the big patio size canopy takes a single person approximately 3 minutes to open or close. With very little care an rv canopy system with good high-quality acrylic will last 10 year or more in all types of weather. Canopies are easy to operate, cheap for what you get out of them, and make caravaning much more fun. They protect you and your family from the weather which is the single biggest enemy of outdoor recreation. There are some quick fix solutions if you need an emergency rv awning repair while you are out raveling and camping.

Rv canopys not only add more square footage to your outdoor living area they can also help you meet new people. With just a couple of canopy accessories you will be fit to spend more time outdoors after sunset. RV awning lights are a great way to decorate your caravan canopy. Canopy lights allow you to enjoy the nights while you are camping without being too bright and annoying. They can also act as an ice breaker for getting to know your neighbors. Some rv campsites can be sandy so that is where an RV awning mat comes in handy. Canopy mats allow you to walk barefoot under your canopy without tracking in dirt and mud into your rv. Have fun and meet new friends while on holiday under your rv canopy.
