rv consignment - selling your rv quickly at a fair price | |||||||
| |||||||
|
Consignment dealers offer different services including determining a fair market price for your RV, doing the paperwork involved in getting your motorhome paid off, advertising in traditional and electronic media, and accepting trade-ins or paying immediate cash for your RV. Sometimes for an extra fee, dealers may even offer some other services for your RV which may include, cleaning, |
detailing, commission, and systems checks. In Houston, Texas PPL Motor Homes will charge a 10% commission that will be due once the RV is sold. Minimum commission is around $1,500 for diesels, motorhomes and van conversions.
RV consignment dealerships are a lot of the time visible from major highways. These lots are usually well lit, safe, and have routine security checks during the night. Despite safety and security measures, a consigned RV still can be damaged by fire, vandalism, falling objects, inclement weather, or in a traffic accident during a test drive. So it is a smart idea to check with your insurance agent before signing an agreement with a consignment company to see if your RV is covered on the dealer's lot. Different insurance companies may state it differently in their policies and may not point out the fact that you're not covered while on a dealers lot. So be sure to keep yourself informed and know these things ahead of time, as it could cause a hassle if you decide to sell later on with RV consignment.
